报告摘要：
Carbenes are a type of carbon compound that has received considerable attention. In 1988, Professor Bertrand successfully isolated and reported the stable carbenes for the first time, marking a milestone achievement that sparked extensive research into carbenes and their properties. In his lecture, Prof. Bertrand will introduce the historical development of carbene chemistry and shared his team’s recent applications and mechanistic studies on the use of carbenes to mimic transition metal-catalyzed organic synthesis reactions. Besides, he will also share his team’s research on the two-electron redox reaction from carbon dications to neutral carbenes and discussed the future prospects of using this two-electron redox process in chemical catalysis.
报告人简介：
Guy Bertrand，法国科学院、工程院院士，欧洲科学院院士，美国科学促进会院士，曾担任Chemical Review杂志副主编，且是许多知名化学期刊的编委。现任美国加州大学圣地亚哥分校杰出教授及UCSD-CNRS联合实验室主任，先后获得英国皇家化学学会德尼霍姆奖和威尔金森爵士奖、法国化学学会勒贝尔奖、清华大学杰出访问学者等荣誉。他的研究领域主要集中在主族元素化学，其中包括卡宾、氮宾、膦宾等活性分子的设计和合成等。迄今为止，他已在Science，JACS，ACIE等期刊上发表论文300余篇。
